Wealth
USING WEALTH
A character’s Wealth describes what type of expenses they can tolerate without exposing themselves to financial hardship. A character can use their Wealth to purchase goods or upgrades, barter, trade or invest, or anything else that money or favors would be used to accomplish.
Wealth aligns with Expense categories for items, favors, and other purchases align. For more on Expenses, see Section 3.2 ACQUISITIONS AND REQUISITIONS
A character can use their Wealth as many times as they have Tiers available. Wealth, once used, must take some time before it can be used again. In general, the higher a level of Wealth, the longer it takes for the Wealth to return. See REFRESHING WEALTH.
For example, a character with Standard II Wealth can make two standard purchases and an Incidental purchase before needing to wait for their Wealth to return.
A character that uses all of their Wealth and attempts to use it again before it returns is subject to receiving Banes such as Impoverish, Indebted, Broke, or No Credit which are difficult to shake off.
REFRESHING WEALTH
It is automatically assumed that a character does what they need to do to maintain their Wealth via saving, or investing. When a Legend has used all the Expenses that they can tolerate at the moment, they need to wait for the Wealth to “refresh,” usually via waiting for a paycheck, a return on investment, sales to come in, etc. Some Activities allow for Legends to make gambles and other efforts to increase their Wealth or trigger a refreshment.
Nowhere explicitly tell you what the rate of refresh is for Wealth; it is a narrative component that the Monitor has the final say on. A good rule of thumb is that it takes about two weeks for Wealth to refresh.
